Learn with Catherine
Catherine has been a clinical psychologist since 2009 and an EMDR Consultant since 2018. Before that, she was completing a PhD on the neurology of empathy and social skills, and before that, she was studying the philosophy of consciousness.
Catherine has an absolute passion for teaching therapists the skills they need to feel competent and helpful to people who have experienced complex trauma. Her enthusiasm for training is informed by her own struggles to help people who came to her for treatment. She loves helping people to harness their brain's healing potential, and she is committed to offering high quality ethical therapy to people who are working on their mental health.
Catherine's trainings are evidence-based and nuanced but straightforward. She has a gift for turning the seemingly complex and bewildering into something everyone can understand.
Why Take This Course?
After years of teaching Complexity to Clarity, a course that provides therapists with the broad foundations for working with complex trauma, there was a repeated theme in the course feedback: we know what to do now, which is great, but we want more practice.
So Catherine invited some of her colleagues in Brisbane to a training day focused on practicing formulation of complex trauma from a neurobiological, parts work perspective; from this day, she's created Parts Work Formulation: How to Make a Map.

Catherine uses concepts from neurobiology, making them simple and accessible for you and your clients. This is helpful because it strengthens your theoretical rationales, and lowers the chances of clients struggling to engage with the intervention. How?!
